Rutherford – Chassis Mechanic

Rail Logistics, Inc. is currently seeking dependable experienced Chassis Mechanics to join our team. With two locations in Harrisburg, PA; 3360 Industrial Rd. Harrisburg, PA. 17110 and 5050 Paxton St Harrisburg, PA. 17111 – we have multiple positions to fill.

Immediate availability ~ Second Shift – scheduled days/shifts vary by location
Additional shift availability may be discussed at interview

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair intermodal chassis including brakes, suspension, electrical, lights, and landing gear
• Conduct FMCSA and DOT-compliant inspections and complete documentation
• Perform structural and cosmetic repairs as needed (e.g., welding, cutting, grinding)
• Replace tires, axles, bushings, and other undercarriage components
• Use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
• Follow all safety procedures and terminal access protocols
• Accurately complete repair orders and inspection forms
• Work independently or as part of a team in an outdoor environment

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with intermodal or heavy-duty trailer equipment
• Strong understanding of DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Welding and/or fabrication experience (preferred)
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Must have own basic tools; specialty tools provided
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding conditions.
